How to Start 2019 off Right

Jeanine on the Scene

As we come to the end of another year, go back to January, get your calendars out and reflect on the things you have accomplished, the trips you have taken, the weekends spent with friends, family, loved ones. Write down memories of each month. You will be surprised at all that has happened to you in one year and all the great memories you have made. The memories that you have created for a lifetime. The little things, the big things and the in between things. You will be amazed at how much you have done and how far you have gotten in a year.So give thanks, be blessed for this life on earth and love whole hearted, spreading love and joy in the world.

Now get out those 2019 calendars, get organized and start planning for an amazing New Year. The world is at your fingertips, grab it. Re-organize those closets, give away items that no longer serve you to someone who is in need.  Start Fresh.

May 2019 be a year of blessings, gratitude, achievements and please spread love wherever you wander. A smile is worth a Thousand Words.

  1. The first is to ALWAYS chose YOU.  See yourself in your true light and love what you see in the mirror everyday.
  2. Be a servant of love. God created you in your authentic self, to be a servant to spread love in the world.  Use your gifts.
  3. KEEP your GRATITUDE, YOUR FAITH, YOUR ABUNDANCE and journal daily on it.
  4. Be a teacher of love. When you chose this; love will follow you. Replace the thoughts of negative behavior in your mind, chose again and replace it with positive affirmations.
  5. Let go of your fears and ego and be still in your day. Set aside 5 or 10 minutes to sit in silence; to meditate or just be still.  You will be surprised at how this can greatly affect your thoughts and how you feel in your day.

How to find the Positive out of a Bad Day

We all have them right?  Those days that start off without a restful sleep. You toss and turn and your brain WILL NOT SHUT OFF!  You look at the clock and watch the time roll from 12:30, 1:30, 2:30 (OMG will I ever fall asleep).  You finally are able to shut your brain down around 4:30 and the alarm goes off at 6 am.  UGH UGH UGH!!!

From this point on you have set the path for your day, wanting to pull the covers over your head and lose yourself in the sleepy slumber you missed the night before. You begin your day planning for the worst possible outcome. A sluggish day, non production and anxiety; where fear and ego take over and nothing seems to go your way because you have allowed yourself to cultivate the worst picture in your mind. Instead of this picture what would you envision as a perfect day?

So yesterday was one of those days for me.  I have had so many different ideas and projects going in my mind that it was hard for me to shut them off.  I continually analyze and over analyze each scenario. I make notes and more notes and spin and spin and spin.  Anyone else do that?  I went to bed feeling ready for sleep and then I woke up around 12:30 to start the whole process of what if’s, trying desperately to go to sleep.  I turned on my meditation app which usually helps.  I did fall asleep for a 1/2 hour but woke again in the tornado of my mind circling around and around a mix of explanations, advantages, disadvantages.  Well you get the picture; a train wreck! This led to a less than productive day filled with anxiety, depression, fears and just a blah day of self doubt and frustrations.  So I told myself “its ok” chalk this off as a day to just re-group and reflect.  So I stopped all my projects for the day.  I read a book.  I took a walk. I watched some programs on Netflix.  I turned off my brain for the day. I went to bed thanking God for allowing this day, knowing I could reflect on it tomorrow and see what the message truly was for me with a clear mind.

I woke up this morning determined to get myself out of my funk and be productive, to see why I had the day I did as they are all lessons to learn if we open up to receive them.  I went to the gym because exercise helps to clear your mind. There I envisioned what a good day looks like , a balance of organization to achieve my goals.

Once you can see past the issue and understand why your day unfolded as it did, to  receive the resolution, then it all becomes clear. There is a reason for everything that happens in our lives.  There are many different paths to take. If we slow down and breath we can see the possibilities. We can reach the highest good for ourselves, but we have to listen and let go of our ego based fears and adjust because it is life. We have one to live so lets make it GREAT!

So when you find yourself in those sleepless nights that make for a not so productive day know this:  We all have them. Every successful person has good and bad days.  The difference is you can either focus on the bad day or listen and learn from your inner thoughts; to see why or what triggered those thoughts. To do whatever you need to to re-ground yourself, to re-center your mind to trust in yourself, but to also trust in the universe and God; whoever your higher power. They have your back.  You just need to ask, your never alone.  Let yourself off the hook to ask for help to reach your goals.  Choose again, infinite possibilities await you, change your thought.  Wishing you slumber and infinite possibilities.

Starting a Business

I was struggling for a long time, trying to find the right business, my passion.  What do I do?  What do I love? How can I achieve it? I have been motivated by B-School (which is kicking my ass) and I am loving every minute of it. @MarieForleo @B-School.  I received this email the other day from @selenasoo who I follow and am going to re-post it because it hit home for me and hope it will for you.  Your hopes and dreams can be attainable.   www.selenasoo.com

You Don’t Need More Experience — You Need More Courage

One of my friends recently shared with me, “I have a dream of starting my own business, but I’m not sure if I’m ready yet. Maybe I should wait. Maybe I need more experience.” She was shocked when I told her, “You don’t need more experience. You’re ready now. What you need is more courage.”

The Myth of Experience

People often think that the more experience you have, the better you’ll be at something. I’ve found that this is only sometimes true.

In all industries (let’s say marketing, for example) you can easily find people with 20 or more years of experience. But does that really matter? What if they have two decades of experience but only one year of learning?

Many people go through their careers (and lives) doing the exact same thing, in the exact same way. The people who get ahead are those who innovate and blaze new trails, not the ones who repeat old ways of doing things. The people who get ahead welcome new ideas. They listen, they adapt and they are constantly learning and challenging themselves.

Get Started Now

Whatever your dream is — get started now. Don’t wait for the perfect moment. Don’t wait for more experience before taking the next step. If you wait until you feel comfortable, then it’s already too late.

Imagine if Mark Zuckerberg said to himself, “I don’t have enough experience to build a company like Facebook. I’m still a college student! Let me wait a few years. I should get some experience at Google or Microsoft first. Maybe then I’ll have the skills to go out on my own.”

If you read the stories of entrepreneurs, such as Sir Richard Branson or Sara Blakely, who have built billion-dollar businesses, you’ll find that most of them had very little experience (or sometimes no experience) when they launched their ventures. That’s because experience is only a small part of the equation.

Yes, today we admire their knowledge and business know-how. But how did they get there? They got experience by getting started.

Courage Matters Most

Anything is possible. But you must believe in yourself before others can believe in you.

You must be willing to get in the game, to make mistakes, to learn from them and then to move on, wiser and stronger.

As Winston Churchill once said, “Success is not final. Failure is not fatal. It is the courage to continue that counts.”

Failure Is a Step Toward Success

In an interview with GigaOm, entrepreneur and startup mentor Steve Blank said, “Do you know what we call a failed entrepreneur in Silicon Valley? Experienced.”

You cannot have success without failure. The two are inextricably linked.

So if you’re afraid to act because you might make a mistake, stop and think again. Roadblocks and setbacks provide us with the information we need to grow, change and make a move in the right direction.

That’s why we should be thanking our failure.

After all, it’s through our failures that we gain experience. So move forward with courage and know that you are headed in the direction of success.

G-O-D Easter Blessings

Happy Easter!

Easter is celebrated many ways for many people.  Some gather their children on their lawns to have a traditional Easter egg hunt.  Others cram into the pews for their once a year visit to church to give thanks and pray.  Some may take a walk in nature and thank God for giving us his only son and granting that we can walk his path.

I grew up Catholic, going to mass EVERY Sunday and always wondered why so many people who were not at regular mass throughout the year would show up on this Sunday to give thanks and Praise.  When I got married and had my children, we would go to mass on Sunday and then take them to Catechism and walk to breakfast while they were there.  We had friends who we shared this with and that was our weekend gathering to talk about life and pray.  Our children were baptized when they were born, had their First Holy Communion and Confirmation just as I had done when I was a child; and two out of my three children were alter servers.

My life has changed from those days as my children have grown up and I am now single.  I stopped going to church around 4 years ago when the divorce started.  I did not stop going because of my divorce;  I stopped going because I did not feel whole when I left mass.  I was losing something in the sermons; not totally feeling I understood the reason for going now because in the eyes of the church I can no longer take communion.  So I turned to nature for my church.  I may go back to church one day but today is not the day.  I instead go to church every day.  I take a walk on the beach, or sit at a park, or maybe take a hike or a run and sit and meditate with God and Jesus.  I GO OUT DOORS G-O-D everyday and praise and thank God for his blessings. I promise to try to walk in his footsteps and pass his glory onto others. I give thanks and praise for all the abundance that I have and I humble myself to not judge others; to do unto others as you would have them do to yourself.

May God Bless You All,

Love and Light,
